The Tomato Challenge
This is a story written in the Sims, based upon a challenge created by SamelaRita on the official Sims forums. While it was originally designed for The Sims 3, Mmdrgntobldrgn and I modified it to work within the framework of The Sims 4. It's not perfect, but it works.
Further Notes:
- My Sim's name is Tomata Gardner.
- Her traits are Loves the Outdoors, Loner, and Dance Machine. That last trait is because Carl - of Carl's The Sims 4 Guide website - has pointed out numerous times that Sims with the Dance Machine trait can Disco Nap on benches and sofas, and that their Energy will replenish with that just as quickly as it could with the normal Sleep interaction. (Possibly even faster.) Dance Machine turned out to be very useful. Loner, not so much. (The trait appears to be broken. My Sim's social need dropped really fast all the time, and a Loner's social need is supposed to drop slowly.)
- Apparently you CANNOT grill the fish that you catch directly, at least not with level 0 or 1 cooking. Her cooking later in the game will probably be a bit higher, so I'll have to see if that's available then. Fortunately, she caught an apple fairly early on while fishing, and you can grill apples right away. If it weren't for that, she probably would have starved at the very beginning.
- I hadn't remembered the rule about not grafting from wild plants before I had done that, but I decided that getting those three plants that way wouldn't be a huge deal as they were all commons.
- I only have a few mods in my game right now: MCCC, one that makes my fish never spoil, and one that's supposed to make it daylight all the time; I have trouble seeing in my games when it's too dark. It also made it considerably easier to take pictures; a screen shot taken at night might be accurate, but they're often really difficult to discern.
