Back in May, I ran a round robin build exchange (we each built for each of the other people in the exchange, in a round robin fashion), and I learned some new techniques in building for the Sims 3, and met some new people. One of those I met was CreativeMetaphor, who, like me, shares a love of medieval, historical, and fantasy builds.
During the round robin I ended up building for her twice due to a fluke of one of the members dropping out, and her choice was to have me do a medieval revamp of a couple of the commercial lots in Dragon Valley. Although I've played Dragon Valley many times (it being my favorite EA world), I hadn't noticed how awful - and how non-medieval - the commercial lots actually are. I rebuilt both the Practice Pit Gymnasium (gym) and Freedom Books (library), and even added tombs underneath both of them. (For the library, I expanded on the underground area that already existed beneath it, and added many more rooms and extras to it.)
Because at the time CreativeMetaphor did not own the Supernatural expansion, there were some things I could not add to either lot that I would have liked to. During the round robin the two of us discussed it, and decided that we want to revamp the entire town, including all residential and commercial lots. By the time the round robin had ended, CM had purchased several additional expansions including Supernatural, which will give us more scope for what we can do. I am also going to re-revamp the gym and library to take advantage of those additional expansions, although I will leave up the older lots on the Exchange for people who might not have them all.
